My Story.

After a successful 10-year management consulting and project management career, I left a dream job working for the London Olympics to chase another dream. That of entrepreneur.

To do so, my wife and I moved into the basement of my childhood home to startup an outdoor adventure business in a brand-new industry. The business was called Go Ape and over the course of 7 years, it became one of the fastest growing companies in the US with 15 nationwide locations and over 250 employees. The dream had become a reality - I was a business owner.

Shortly after receiving Smart CEO’s Top Workplace Culture award and being named as one of Outside Magazine’s best places to work, I was removed as CEO in a hostile takeover of the business I started and led.

This loss was devastating. Devastating because my company was more than a job. It was my life. Company 5-year goals were my 5-year personal goals. The people I saw every day weren’t just employees, they were my friends. Company values were values I used to lead my life.

After one boardroom meeting, my identity of CEO was stripped bare and as a result, my life was too. Without employees to manage, customers to please or business partners to satisfy, I was free, but to do what?

I used this newfound freedom to rebuild. First, I caught up on lost time with my family and took a month trip to New Zealand. Enjoying the travel, we then decided to live out of an Airstream trailer while taking a 6-month roadtrip around the country to visit as many National Parks as we could. Upon returning from these trips, I deepened my meditation practice by taking silent retreats and living in monasteries. Overall, I used the time to find myself.

What I found is a person who is deeply passionate in helping others to realize their truth.

After attending Georgetown University and receiving a certification in Leadership Coaching, I now live a life aligned with values and purpose by helping Executives to unlock their full potential to lead.
